MediaTek: Wi-Fi 7 output value will reach NT$770 billion in the next 5 years

Ye Xinzhong, Assistant General Manager of MediaTek's Smart Unicom Business Unit, said at the technology sharing meeting held yesterday (26) that he is optimistic about the development prospects of Wi-Fi 7 and expects Wi-Fi 7-related semiconductors, components and terminals in the next five years. The output value is expected to reach NT$770 billion.

According to Juheng.com, Ye Xinzhong said that the main application products of Wi-Fi 7 from 2024 to 2029 include wireless access points, mobile phones, broadband wireless and consumer electronics.

It is reported that MediaTek's Wi-Fi 7 solution uses a 6-nanometer process and has new features such as higher throughput, lower network latency, and higher network utilization efficiency. The technology supports the advanced 4K QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) modulation technology, the new MLO (Multi-Link Operation) technology enables link aggregation, and supports a higher 320MHz bandwidth in the 6GHz band. With the help of MRU (Multiple Resource Unit), the network utilization efficiency can be improved, the impact of noise interference on frequency bands can be greatly reduced, and the throughput rate can be significantly improved in the network with multi-user load.

Ye Xinzhong pointed out that the company's Wi-Fi 7 customers are quite active at present, and will help customer end products to be launched next year.
