Scholz: Germany will become Europe's largest semiconductor producer

According to reports from foreign media, the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently stated at an event that Germany might emerge as the leading semiconductor producer in Europe, attributing it to substantial investments in the sector.

Scholz asserted, "Through investments, we can establish an ecosystem that not only safeguards the stability of the European Union but also liberates us from dependence on other regions." He further emphasized that German authorities are intensifying their efforts to revitalize the nation's semiconductor manufacturing industry. Scholz expressed his eagerness to contribute significantly to the growth of emerging industries related to semiconductors, anticipating that core investments would position Germany as a key participant in this field over time.

Presently, Intel has disclosed plans to invest in an advanced process semiconductor fabrication facility in Germany. Additionally, there are speculations that TSMC is in negotiations with local authorities in Germany regarding an investment in semiconductor fabrication facilities. These developments underscore Germany's strategic moves to secure a prominent role in the semiconductor industry, aligning with the global trend of nations prioritizing semiconductor self-sufficiency.
