SEMI Launches Industry Advisory Committee for Supply Chain Management Initiative with TSMC as a Founding Member

According to a report by Taiwan's Central News Agency, the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) announced today that its supply chain management initiative has established an Industry Advisory Committee, with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) as one of the founding members. In a press release issued today, SEMI stated that the newly formed committee aims to promote the development of a more agile and resilient global electronics supply chain. The committee will provide SEMI members with solutions needed to address supply chain disruptions, assisting companies in formulating proactive strategies and ensuring the stability and security of their operations and supplier networks. Merck Group, KLA, Intel, TSMC, Infineon, and Google are the founding members of the committee. SEMI noted that the committee is expected to increase to 20 member companies this year, covering different industry sectors and regions, and will establish regional committees and working groups to propose individual feasible solutions. SEMI's Global Marketing and Taiwan President, James C.C. Cao, stated that the founding members of the committee will establish priorities, goals, and strategies for SEMI's supply chain management initiative to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions. In addition, the founding members have set five major directional goals for the committee, namely participation, collaboration, data collection, industry consistency, and inclusiveness.
