According to a CNBC report, NVIDIA has joined forces with companies such as Oracle and Salesforce to participate in the Series C funding round of Cohere, an AI startup under Google. The total investment amount for this round reached $270 million. Currently, major tech giants are actively investing in the field of artificial intelligence, striving to secure a leading position in this race.
Cohere, founded just four years ago, has raised a total of $175 million in funding so far, with the latest Series C funding far surpassing the previous rounds. The company is also one of the AI companies being invested in by Salesforce Ventures. Cohere's main business revolves around research on large-scale AI language models, providing assistance in areas such as copywriting, search, and article summarization. The company requires a large amount of data to train its models and is currently collaborating with enterprise customers to address this challenge. It has also signed agreements with various companies to embed AI technology into services across sectors such as technology and finance, while providing firewall solutions to businesses. Additionally, Cohere is developing an open-source version of its AI technology.
Cohere stated that its current clients include global streaming platforms, apparel companies, content moderation companies, among others. Recently, the company has partnered with LivePerson, an AI conversational chatbot company, to provide customized large-scale language model products. The company's spokesperson mentioned that with the support of AI technology, people's work efficiency could potentially increase tenfold. However, this transformation will occur slowly over the next five years, allowing people time to adapt to the process.
