Ams OSRAM, a leading global supplier of optical solutions, has announced the release of their latest generation product, the OSLON® Square hyper-red plant lighting LED. This advanced LED is specifically designed to enhance plant growth speed and provide the best cost-effective solution for the electronic component industry. Responding to customer demands, ams OSRAM has developed innovative technology that offers a more efficient high photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) LED solution compared to the previous generation's hyper-red 660nm LED.
The new OSLON® Square hyper-red LED is versatile and can be used for various plant lighting applications, including greenhouse top lighting, internal lighting, single-source lighting, and vertical agriculture. It features the product code GH CSSRM6.24 and boasts an impressive 78.8% electro-optical conversion efficiency at a junction temperature of 25°C, surpassing its predecessor's 76.8%. This improvement enables indoor cultivators to save energy costs associated with artificial lighting when growing a wide range of crops such as vegetables, flowers, and medicinal plants.
One notable feature of the OSLON® Square LED series is its ceramic packaging, which provides high power and stability. This makes it an excellent choice for indoor agriculture, even in demanding conditions like high humidity. Moreover, the GH CSSRM6.24 LED product sets a new standard for longevity, offering a remarkable Q90 lifespan of up to 102,000 hours, ensuring a reliable and productive harvest. Additionally, the LED meets the ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001 standard (human model) for electrostatic discharge, withstanding up to 8kV.
