MIRIM Semiconductor, a subsidiary of Midea Industrial Technology, has recently introduced the MRD7110S Intelligent Power Module (IPM) designed for motor control. This advanced module is specifically developed for low-power applications and offers intelligent control for three-phase brushless DC motors. With outstanding performance in voltage resistance, peak current, and driving capability, it meets top international standards. This launch marks a significant milestone in the domestic market by localizing the production of a 600V voltage-resistant intelligent power module.
The MRD7110S module includes a motor control chip, six high-voltage power MOSFETs, high-voltage gate driver circuitry (HVIC), and other essential components. Its comprehensive configuration enables manufacturers to achieve highly efficient motor control with minimal additional peripherals. Operating with a peak driving current of 1.5A or lower, the module exhibits excellent voltage endurance up to 600V. It also incorporates various protection features, such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, current limiting, overheating, blockage, and speed limitations. These safeguards ensure optimal performance even in the face of power grid fluctuations. Leveraging sine wave driving technology, the MRD7110S provides smooth current waveforms, resulting in reduced motor noise and minimal power losses. This makes it an ideal choice for applications that require low noise and high efficiency.
MIRIM Semiconductor has conducted extensive reliability tests on the MRD7110S, employing state-of-the-art laboratory and testing equipment. The module has passed rigorous assessments, including high-temperature and low-temperature cycling tests, biased highly accelerated stress tests (HAST), accelerated temperature and humidity tests, and biased voltage tests. These tests ensure that the module meets industry standards and requirements. Impressively, the MRD7110S has successfully undergone 10,000 power cycling cycles, demonstrating its exceptional performance at an international level. Moreover, it has received validation and widespread adoption from multiple customers.
In addition to the MRD7110S, MIRIM Semiconductor is actively addressing the growing trend of smart home appliances. The company is conducting comprehensive research and development in various areas, including high-frequency intelligent SoCs/DSPs, intelligent display control, intelligent sensing, AI voice interaction, and network connectivity. These efforts aim to prepare for the future by advancing technology and meeting the evolving demands of smarter home appliances.
