NVIDIA Unveils China Edition: RTX 5880 Ada, 14080 Cores

Last month, NVIDIA unveiled the RTX 5880 Ada graphics card, marking its debut in the latest RTX Enterprise 537.99 driver. Today, we bring you the official specifications for this cutting-edge graphics card. Crafted in adherence to U.S. export policies, the RTX 5880 Ada is a refined iteration of the RTX 6000 Ada, exhibiting a reduction in core configuration and enhanced power efficiency to align with a capped Total Processing Performance (TPP) of 4800 points.

The NVIDIA RTX 5880 Ada Generation stands ready to address the challenges posed by contemporary professional workflows. Grounded in the Ada Lovelace GPU architecture, this graphics card seamlessly integrates the third-generation RT cores, fourth-generation Tensor cores, and a new generation CUDA core, complemented by an impressive 48GB of memory.

In the specifications realm, the NVIDIA RTX 5880 Ada boasts a streamlined AD102 GPU core, featuring 14,080 CUDA cores and 440 Tensor cores. This represents a 22% reduction in core count compared to its counterpart, the RTX 6000 Ada. Operating at a core frequency of approximately 2.5 GHz, it delivers 69.3 TFLOPs of FP32 computing power and 1108 TFLOPs of Tensor performance. Notably, FP32 and Tensor core performance registers a 24% decrease compared to the RTX 6000 Ada.

Turning to memory, the RTX 5880 Ada harnesses the prowess of 48GB GDDR6 memory, clocked at 20 Gbps, yielding a bandwidth of 960 GB/s. Power efficiency takes center stage, with a minor reduction of 15W (from 300W to 285W) in comparison to the RTX 6000 Ada GPU. The graphics card boasts a standard dual-slot active cooling design and features four DisplayPort 1.4a output ports. Enhancing its capabilities, it incorporates three Encore/Decode engines.

While specific pricing details remain undisclosed, it is reasonable to anticipate that the RTX 5880 Ada will be competitively priced, following the precedent set by the RTX 4090D. Despite its tailored design for the Chinese market, the RTX 4090D entered the scene at a price point identical to the standard RTX 4090.
