The Ryzen 8040 series processors boast a cutting-edge 4nm Zen 4 CPU core architecture, providing up to 8 cores and 16 threads with an impressive clock speed of 5.2 GHz. Additionally, they feature the advanced RDNA 3 graphics core architecture, delivering powerful graphics performance with up to Radeon 780M iGPU (12 compute units). Moreover, these processors are equipped with the XDNA NPU, offering an impressive 16TOPS of AI computing power, marking a substantial 60% increase in AI performance compared to their predecessors. With a TDP ranging from 15-54W, these processors offer both efficiency and power.
Notably, the AMD Hawk Point series introduces 9 SKUs, with key models such as the Ryzen 9 8945HS, Ryzen 7 8845HS, and Ryzen 7 8840HS featuring NPU cores.
AMD's data reveals significant improvements with the Ryzen 9 8945HS, boasting a 40% enhancement in video encoding capability and an outstanding 120% increase in graphics performance compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 5900H. Particularly in AI performance, there's a remarkable 60% leap over the previous Ryzen 7040 series.
