Following the transition to the Tensor chipset in 2021, the Pixel series encountered various modem-related challenges. However, these issues may soon be resolved, with Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro rumored to integrate Samsung's Exynos 5400 5G modem, offering improved performance and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.
Moreover, advancements in the software stack are expected to enhance overall stability. Notably, the Exynos 5400 will support 3GPP Release 17, enabling Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) 5G functionality, which leverages satellite-based communication.
