According to reports, Apple has sent out invitations for its upcoming fall event, scheduled for September 10. The highly anticipated event will introduce the new iPhone 16 series, featuring the advanced A18 series chips designed to support the next-generation AI capabilities, Apple Intelligence.
Industry analysts predict that TSMC, a major player in semiconductor manufacturing, will gain significantly from this upgrade. Unlike previous models that included a mix of A17 chips, the iPhone 16 is expected to exclusively feature the new A18 series. The introduction of both the A18 and A18 Pro chips is expected to drive strong demand, with the Pro version likely to be in particularly high demand, pushing TSMC's latest 3nm N3E process to full capacity.
The invitation also suggests a new color option, "Desert Gold," and the potential addition of a "Capture Button" to enhance photography features. Alongside the iPhone 16, the event is expected to showcase new AirPods and updates to the Apple Watch series. The iPhone 16 will be powered by the A18 and A18 Pro chips, utilizing TSMC’s state-of-the-art 3nm N3E technology.
Forecasts for iPhone shipments originally estimated a 3% to 5% increase in stock for the year, excluding older models, with an anticipated range of 92 to 95 million units. However, recent projections suggest that shipments could exceed 95 million units, potentially surpassing previous expectations.
