ASML Q1 Sales €7.7B, 5th High NA EUV Shipped

On April 16, ASML announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2025, reporting solid performance across key metrics. The company posted net sales of 7.7 billion, a gross margin of 54%, and net income totaling 2.4 billion.

ASML also recorded 3.9 billion in new orders for the quarter, including 1.2 billion in bookings for its cutting-edge extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems.

Christophe Fouquet, President and CEO of ASML, stated:
"Our first-quarter net sales of 7.7 billion were in line with our expectations, while the gross margin exceeded our target at 54%, thanks to a favorable EUV product mix and achievement of performance metrics. During the quarter, we shipped our fifth High-NA EUV system, bringing the total to three customers now equipped with this next-generation technology."

Looking ahead, ASML forecasts second-quarter 2025 net sales between 7.2 billion and 7.7 billion, with a gross margin ranging from 50% to 53%. For the full year, the company expects net sales between 30 billion and 35 billion and gross margins between 51% and 53%.

Addressing concerns about tariffs, ASML CFO Roger Dassen outlined four primary categories of potential impact: tariffs on complete systems shipped to the U.S.; tariffs on parts and tools used for field operations within the U.S.; tariffs on materials imported into the U.S. for further manufacturing; and tariffs from other countries on goods exported from the U.S., where applicable. He also noted the possibility of indirect effects on global economic growth and overall market demand.

Dassen emphasized ASML's proactive collaboration with the broader semiconductor ecosystem to fully understand the implementation of new tariffs and minimize their impact. "Our goal is to keep the effect of these trade measures on our operations and performance as limited as possible," he added.
