MediaTek Launches 3nm Dimensity Auto Chip C-X1

On April 23, MediaTek officially introduced its latest flagship automotive platforms—the Dimensity Auto Cockpit C-X1 and the Dimensity Auto Connectivity MT2739—paving the way for a new era of intelligent, connected in-vehicle experiences.

The Dimensity Auto Cockpit C-X1 is built on cutting-edge 3nm process technology and leverages the Arm v9.2-A architecture. It integrates NVIDIA’s powerful Blackwell GPU along with a deep learning accelerator, creating a flexible dual-AI engine architecture. This enables exceptional AI performance, tailored to meet the evolving demands of next-generation intelligent cockpits.

With cloud-to-edge ecosystem consistency, the C-X1 accelerates in-vehicle deployment of large multimodal language models. This supports a wide range of advanced features, including low-latency voice assistants, real-time journey planning, smart travel video generation, driver attention monitoring, and contextual environmental awareness—bringing personalized multimedia experiences to the forefront of automotive innovation. The platform is also engineered to handle multi-display interfaces and complex AI workloads, redefining the standard for smart cockpit performance.

In the realm of in-vehicle entertainment, the C-X1 incorporates NVIDIA RTX GPU technology with ray tracing capabilities, delivering immersive lighting effects and a seamless AAA-grade gaming experience directly inside the vehicle.

When paired with NVIDIA's advanced safety and AI processors—such as the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor—the C-X1 forms a comprehensive centralized computing solution. Both platforms run on NVIDIA DriveOS, enabling efficient resource sharing and application hosting. This integration empowers developers to streamline in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) into a unified architecture, advancing the future of software-defined vehicles.

Complementing the cockpit platform, MediaTek also unveiled the Dimensity Auto Connectivity MT2739, which leads the industry with support for 5G-Advanced and full compatibility with 3GPP Release 17 and 18 standards. It is among the first to support NB-NTN and NR-NTN satellite communications, enhancing global connectivity capabilities.

The MT2739 features dual-SIM dual-active technology on a single RF front-end, with intelligent driving scene recognition and AI-powered network optimization. It dynamically selects the most efficient connectivity mode to improve speed, reduce latency, and maintain stable network performance across diverse environments. Designed to meet AEC-Q100 Grade 2 automotive standards and server-grade cybersecurity requirements, MT2739 also offers innovative software development tools to simplify cross-platform system development and integration.
