TSMC Client Rankings Shake Up by 2026

According to reports, the global AI race is intensifying, and TSMC's major client rankings are expected to shift significantly by 2026. Apple, benefiting from long-term capacity reservations, is set to remain TSMC's largest client, with its revenue contribution projected to surge—potentially surpassing NT$1 trillion (around US$33 billion) as early as 2026. Meanwhile, Broadcom is emerging rapidly and could overtake NVIDIA to become TSMC's second-largest client next year.

TSMC's 2024 annual report showed that its largest client generated NT$624.3 billion in revenue, a historic high with a 14.2% year-on-year increase, accounting for 22% of total revenue—widely believed to be Apple. TSMC's advanced process technology has been instrumental in Apple's in-house chip strategy, enabling higher performance, and next year, Apple's absolute revenue contribution is expected to rise further due to higher semiconductor content in products and expanded production from TSMC's U.S. facilities.

Analysts project TSMC's top seven clients in 2025, by revenue share, as follows: Apple (25%), NVIDIA (11%), MediaTek (9%), Qualcomm (8%), AMD (7%), Broadcom (7%), and Intel (6%). These rankings are expected to evolve in 2026 as client applications grow and strategic collaborations progress.

Although NVIDIA continues to dominate the AI chip market, Broadcom's collaborations with fast-rising AI players, including OpenAI, are fueling rapid growth. By 2026, Broadcom's contribution to TSMC revenue could leap from sixth place in 2025 to the top three, potentially challenging NVIDIA—a shift considered the biggest "dark horse" move in TSMC's client rankings.

Industry observers highlight that Broadcom's revenue jump is driven largely by securing substantial AI orders, with OpenAI's custom ASIC chips primarily developed alongside Broadcom and Marvell. OpenAI itself is expected to become one of Broadcom's top four clients.

Looking ahead to 2026, analysts estimate TSMC's major client revenue shares as: Apple (22–25%), Broadcom (11–15%), NVIDIA (11%), MediaTek (9–10%), Qualcomm (8%), AMD (7%), and Intel (7%).

In addition to Broadcom's rapid rise, NVIDIA recently announced investments in Intel for joint R&D, which could accelerate Intel's new product launches. Given Intel's high-end capacity remains constrained for internal use, TSMC is likely to continue playing a key role in ramping up these products, potentially increasing Intel's revenue contribution to TSMC—making it another focal point for industry watchers next year.
