MediaTek Q3 Revenue Up 7.8% YoY, Beats Forecast

On October 9, MediaTek announced its revenue results for September 2025, showing strong momentum driven by the market launch of its new flagship Dimensity 9500 series SoC. The company's consolidated revenue for September reached NT$54.33 billion, marking a 21.96% increase from August and a 21.61% rise year-over-year.

For the third quarter, MediaTek recorded consolidated revenue of NT$142.096 billion. Although this represented a 5.5% decline compared to Q2, it still reflected a 7.8% annual increase, outperforming the company's own earlier forecast. MediaTek had previously projected Q3 revenue between NT$130.1 billion and NT$140 billion, expecting a quarterly decline of 713%. However, actual results exceeded those expectations.

Cumulatively, MediaTek's revenue for the first three quarters of 2025 reached NT$445.78 billion, up 13.6% compared to the same period in 2024. The growth was largely driven by strong demand for the Dimensity 9500, which is built using TSMC's advanced 3nm process. The first smartphones powered by this chip have already hit the market, fueling MediaTek's premium segment performance.

However, the company also noted some challenges. Due to front-loaded demand in the first half of the year, revenue from the smart device platform fell in Q3 compared to Q2. Additionally, weaker consumer electronics demand led to a drop in power management IC revenue.

Meanwhile, several foreign analysts have expressed a cautious outlook on MediaTek's near-term prospects. Their concerns include rising wafer costs from TSMC, intensifying competition in mobile SoCs, potential royalty fee hikes from Arm in 2026, and possible delays in Google's ASIC projects.
