The company posted consolidated revenue of NT$989.92 billion, net profit of NT$452.3 billion, and earnings per share (EPS) of NT$17.44, surpassing market expectations of over NT$16 per share.
Compared with the same period last year, TSMC's Q3 revenue jumped 30.3%, net profit rose 39.1%, and EPS increased by 39.0%. Sequentially, revenue grew 6.0% and net profit increased 13.6%.
Measured in U.S. dollars, Q3 revenue reached $33.1 billion, up 40.8% year-over-year and 10.1% quarter-over-quarter. The company reported a gross margin of 59.5%, operating margin of 50.6%, and net profit margin of 45.7%.
Advanced nodes (7nm and below) accounted for 74% of TSMC's revenue, with 3nm contributing 23%, 5nm 37%, and 7nm 14%.
Reflecting strong market demand, TSMC raised its full-year outlook. Chairman and CEO C. C. Wei noted that the company now expects 2025 annual revenue growth in U.S. dollars to reach the mid-thirty percent range (~34%–36%), up from the previous near-30% forecast in July.
CFO Wendell Huang projected Q4 revenue of $32.2–33.4 billion, with a midpoint of $32.8 billion, representing a slight 1% sequential decline. The guidance assumes an exchange rate of NT$30.6 per USD, with a gross margin of 59%–61% and an operating margin of 49%–51%.
On the capital expenditure front, TSMC now expects 2025 spending of $40–42 billion, up slightly from the previous $38–42 billion range, with an average of $41 billion. Q3 capex reached $9.7 billion, following $10.06 billion in Q1 and $9.63 billion in Q2, totaling $29.39 billion for the first three quarters. Analysts note that even the low end of the Q4 guidance (~$8.6 billion) is slightly conservative, aligning with prior expectations.
