Nvidia Market Value Tops $5 Trillion, Hits Record High

On October 29, U.S. stocks opened higher across the board, with AI chipmaker Nvidia jumping 3.2% at the opening bell—propelling its market value past $5 trillion for the first time in history. Nvidia has officially become the world's first publicly listed company to cross this milestone.

The company's rise has been staggering. It took just 113 days for Nvidia's valuation to leap from $4 trillion to $5 trillion, compared to 410 days to move from $3 trillion to $4 trillion. Nvidia's market cap now surpasses the combined value of stock markets in the UK, France, and Germany, and is closing in on India's total market value of $5.3 trillion.

Since hitting a low in April, Nvidia's stock has rebounded over 135%, adding $2.9 trillion in market capitalization and delivering a 54% gain year-to-date.

Coinciding with the valuation milestone, Nvidia hosted its GTC conference in Washington, D.C., where CEO Jensen Huang gave a wide-ranging keynote touching on 6G networks, quantum computing, physical AI, robotics, nuclear fusion, and autonomous driving. Huang emphasized that Nvidia’s latest Blackwell and upcoming Rubin chip architectures are fueling an unprecedented growth cycle—pushing back against speculation of an AI market bubble.

He also revealed that Nvidia's next-generation chips could generate as much as $500 billion in revenue over the coming quarters. According to Goldman Sachs, that target is 12% above market consensus ($447 billion via Visible Alpha data) and 10% higher than the bank's own forecast of $453 billion.
