If you have a Xiaomi door and window sensor paired with a XiaoAi Speaker Play that comes with a built-in Bluetooth Mesh gateway, you may find that the speaker looks out of place because it needs to stay plugged in all the time, and it can easily be accidentally unplugged by family members. At this point, you may come up with the idea of taking it apart and modifying it into a wall-mounted device, allowing it to blend seamlessly into your home environment.

First, you mainly need to remove the mainboard and speaker from the device. Fortunately, you happen to have one blank wall panel and one surface-mounted two-hole power socket.

You cut the socket flat, and it fits the mainboard perfectly.

You install the speaker into an 86-type wall box and seal the surrounding gaps.

You secure the socket while leaving enough space for the speaker and power cable.

You install the screws, connect the wires, power it on, and test the device.

This is the final result. The device is hidden inside the wall, with an opening left at the bottom. The wake-up function works normally, and the modification is complete.
