DIY Lithium Battery Charger: Make a 9V Battery Charger

If you happen to have a digital camera charger and an old battery with reduced capacity, you can get a creative idea to make a 9V lithium battery charger for a multimeter.

The modification process is very simple. You only need to open the camera battery and connect two wires to the battery terminals.

After soldering the wires, you can connect the battery to the charger first and test whether it charges properly.

Once you confirm that everything works normally, you can wrap the camera battery with adhesive tape to restore its original shape. Then, use AB glue to fix the charging socket connected to the wires onto the battery casing. Make sure that the socket is glued to the casing, not the adhesive tape. The project is now complete.

In daily use, you can keep the camera battery fully charged. When your multimeter’s 9V battery runs out of power, you can simply place it on the charger and recharge it directly.
