Intel Arc Pro B70 GPU Price Surges 46% in One Month

According to Tom’s Hardware, Intel’s flagship Arc Pro B70 workstation graphics card has seen its retail price surge by as much as 46% over the past month, as growing AI demand continues to put pressure on DRAM and GDDR memory supplies.

The broader AI boom has significantly increased demand for DRAM, while the GDDR memory used in graphics cards is also facing tighter availability and rising prices. As memory costs climb, graphics card prices are increasingly coming under pressure.

Intel launched the Arc Pro B70 earlier this year with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $949. Its retail price initially stabilized at around $1,000, but prices began rising sharply in August.

In the U.S. market, the ASRock Creator version of the Arc Pro B70 is currently listed at $1,299 on Newegg and Amazon, up from approximately $999 in July. This represents a monthly increase of about 30%. B&H has also listed Intel’s reference-design Arc Pro B70 at $1,779, although this version is based on Intel’s reference design.

Similar price increases have emerged in Europe, where graphics cards are already relatively expensive. In Germany, Arc Pro B70 models have been selling for around €1,200, or nearly $1,400, since June. According to price-tracking data from Geizhals, the average price has reached approximately €1,500, equivalent to about $1,735, representing a 26% increase from previously recorded levels.

South Korea has seen an even sharper increase. According to local price aggregation platform Danawa, the Arc Pro B70 was priced at 1,889,980 Korean won, or approximately $1,334, on July 21. By August 16, the price had climbed to 2,798,980 won, equivalent to around $1,975. That represents a 46% increase in less than a month.

The price increase in South Korea has not occurred overnight. Instead, the Arc Pro B70 has followed a steady upward trend over the past several weeks. Intel’s official pre-discount pricing is even higher, reaching 2,817,000 won, or approximately $1,988.

Analysts point to two major factors behind the Arc Pro B70’s rapid price increase: rising memory costs and the graphics card’s strong value for AI inference workloads.

Based on Intel’s Battlemage architecture, the Arc Pro B70 features 32GB of GDDR6 ECC memory. Its large memory capacity and error-correcting capability make it particularly well suited to handling large AI models and datasets. As generative AI and large language model deployment continue to expand, graphics cards with high-capacity memory and professional-grade capabilities are becoming increasingly valuable.

The price surge also highlights broader volatility across the computing hardware market. From DRAM and NAND flash to advanced computing chips, tighter availability and higher production costs are spreading throughout the semiconductor supply chain. The sharp increase in Arc Pro B70 pricing reflects the combined impact of surging AI compute demand and persistent hardware constraints.

Higher graphics card prices are likely to increase cost pressures for both consumer applications and enterprise deployments. If investment in AI infrastructure remains strong while manufacturing capacity fails to expand significantly, prices for high-performance professional graphics cards such as the Arc Pro B70 could remain elevated in the near term.
