
According to Starcloud, the space-based data center startup has completed a $250 million funding round, bringing its valuation to $2.3 billion. The company plans to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure through orbital data centers, as renewed investor interest in the space industry grows following SpaceX’s highly anticipated IPO plans.
The funding round was led by Manhattan West, with new investors including NVIDIA and Cisco Investments. Existing investors such as Benchmark, EQT, and Soma also participated in the investment.
Starcloud previously raised $170 million in March 2026 at a valuation of $1.1 billion. The latest financing brings the company’s total funding since its founding in 2024 to $450 million.
The company said it is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop the NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin module, which is designed to operate in the harsh conditions of orbit, including exposure to radiation and extreme environments.
Starcloud plans to use the newly raised capital to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen engineering cooperation with NVIDIA, and support the development and procurement of new technologies.
The startup aims to build an orbital computing network consisting of 88,000 satellites with a total computing capacity of 20 gigawatts. It also plans to construct a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Woodinville, Washington, to produce its next-generation Starcloud-3 spacecraft.
In addition, Lauren Selig from Manhattan West Law has joined Starcloud’s board of directors as a board observer.
