DIY Headlamp Modification with Batteries

If If you happen to have a headlamp that is compact and stylish, and you also happen to have a few batteries, you can modify the headlamp.

Open the battery compartment, and you will find an aluminum substrate secured with three screws (which you remove first) and powered by three AAA batteries connected in series.

Take out the aluminum substrate, and you will find the button and light-source protective cover underneath.

The battery contacts are directly soldered onto the aluminum substrate, and you will find a 5112 power management IC, a 1-ohm resistor, and a copper-head tactile switch, all mounted on the same board.

Then install these batteries and test the headlamp first, even though they are a mixed combination.

You can cycle through three lighting modes: high brightness, low brightness, and strobe, followed by off.

Finally, put on the included headband and give it a try, and you will find that it works very well. The modification is complete.
