DIY Digital Music Player: Build Your Own Audio Player

If you are interested in building a DIY digital music player, you may want to take a look at this project.

If you happen to have these materials, including a USB sound card, a cash register, a 40GB USB portable hard drive, a DAC with a coaxial input, and a USB flash drive with the Volumio system, you can start building it.

The USB sound card itself has an optical output, which is a digital output. You can modify it to provide a coaxial output by connecting a 75-ohm resistor and a 0.1μF capacitor in series before the coaxial output.

Then, you can solder three USB female connectors, which you can use for the USB portable hard drive, the USB sound card, and the USB flash drive with the Volumio system, respectively.

After you connect all the USB devices, you can wind three pieces of iron wire around the computer and then use copper wire to secure the two devices together. You can apply hot-melt glue to fix them and the coaxial connection in place. At this point, you have completed the entire project.

Coaxial input can be connected to the DAC, which has an operational amplifier for headphone amplification. Once you put on your headphones, you can enjoy your music.
