DIY LED Work Light: Portable Rechargeable Lamp

Whenever you are soldering or working on other small projects, you may feel that the lighting is not bright enough. If you use a desk lamp, it may feel too far away, while a brighter light can be uncomfortable for your eyes. What you really need is a small, movable desktop work light that is easy to position, can be bent or adjusted as needed, and, most importantly, can run for a long time and be recharged.

If you happen to have one 18650 battery, one USB charging and discharging module, one 18650 battery holder, one USB mini light that can be bent freely, and a small bottle, you can use these materials to assemble a small, portable LED work light.

The battery holder originally had its wires coming out from underneath the positive and negative terminals. To make it easier to insert the holder into the bottle, you can thread the wires through the hole in the middle and secure them with masking tape.

Then, you can use hot glue to secure the charging and discharging module near the positive terminal.

Next, you can solder the battery holder and the charging and discharging module together.

The opening of this medicine bottle is a little too small, but the USB light fits snugly into it. You can use a utility knife to cut an opening in the bottle so that you can insert the battery holder more easily.

You can use a 5V phone charger to charge the 18650 battery. The red indicator light flashes while the battery is charging.

Once you have finished the assembly, you can simply plug in the USB light and start using it. It is very convenient because it does not block your view while you are working, and you can easily adjust the lighting distance. It is especially useful when you are soldering. (The red indicator light stays on while the battery is discharging.)
