Infineon Thailand Plant to Start Production October 1

According to a September 26 report, German semiconductor company Infineon Technologies is set to officially open its new semiconductor facility in Thailand on October 1, with total investment exceeding THB 48 billion (approximately $1.44 billion).

The facility will manufacture power modules designed for applications in electric vehicles, energy systems, and data centers. The project is expected to create more than 5,000 jobs for local workers in Thailand.

According to a press release issued by Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) on Friday evening, the investment covers power module manufacturing, semiconductor testing, and the establishment of a research and development center.

The new facility is expected to strengthen Thailand’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and support the development of a more advanced domestic semiconductor industry. It also highlights the growing importance of power semiconductor technologies in electric mobility, energy infrastructure, and data center applications.
