TSMC will hold a technical forum on August 30, or disclose the latest progress of the 2nm process

According to the "Economic Daily" report, TSMC is expected to hold a technical forum in Taiwan Province of China on August 30. In addition to Wei Zhejia's speech, a supervisor will also be arranged to explain the progress of advanced processes and special processes. Whether more 2nm advanced process information will be released at the meeting remains to be seen.

In June of this year, TSMC first launched a 2-nanometer process using a nanosheet transistor architecture at a technology forum in North America. At the same power consumption, the speed of 2nm is 10% to 15% higher than that of 3nm; at the same speed, the power consumption is reduced by 25% to 30%.

In addition to the basic version, TSMC's 2nm process technology platform also covers high-performance versions and complete chiplet integration solutions. 2nm is expected to start mass production in 2025.
