According to Malaysian media reports, Dnex Group recently released its 22nd fiscal year operating results, showing that after the acquisition of the wafer fabrication plant SilTerra, the group's technology sector business has experienced strong growth to become the group's revenue pillar.
Regarding the 12-inch wafer fab project recently signed by Dnex and Foxconn in Malaysia, the company announced that it is currently progressing as planned and is discussing with stakeholders including the Malaysian government. The second 12-inch wafer fabrication facility in Southeast Asia after Singapore, the 28-nanometer node process it adopts will have a broad and sustainable market space.
For the currently operating 8-inch wafer fab SilTerra, the company revealed that the long-term contract signed with major customers has enabled the capacity utilization rate to reach more than 70%, and further technological upgrades are expected to be completed in the first half of 2023. After the upgrade, SilTerra will have MEMS and the characteristic process platform of silicon photonics devices to further increase gross profit.
Dnex also said that it is forming a joint venture with Saudi Arabia-based Ajlan & Bros Holding Group to explore the establishment of semiconductor packaging and testing facilities in Saudi Arabia and introduce it into the joint venture wafer fab project with Foxconn.
