Recently, at the 2023 Huawei Developer Conference, Huawei made an exciting announcement - the launch of their latest operating system, HarmonyOS 4. What's generating a lot of buzz is HarmonyOS 4's integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Mr. Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's Terminal Business Group and Intelligent Automotive Solutions Business Unit, highlighted, "AI as a helpful assistant, not a replacement; AI enhancing experiences, not creating illusions." Thanks to the powerful Pangolin large model, the new "Xiao Yi" is becoming smarter and gaining AI large-model capabilities. Yu Chengdong even teased this groundbreaking feature of the HarmonyOS operating system on his Weibo account on August 2nd.
HarmonyOS 4 goes beyond AI with its state-of-the-art Ark Engine, introducing six innovative technologies: graphics, multimedia, memory, scheduling, storage, and energy efficiency. Compared to its predecessor, HarmonyOS 3, HarmonyOS 4 boasts a 20% improvement in smooth performance and an extra 30 minutes of battery life. Furthermore, HarmonyOS 4 will introduce AI-powered meeting summaries, enabling real-time speech-to-text transcription and one-click summary generation on mobile devices.
In July, Huawei Cloud introduced Pangolin 3.0, featuring the Pangolin Chinese Language (NLP) model with over a hundred billion parameters. This advanced model not only handles basics like content generation, industry knowledge retrieval, and reading comprehension but also offers high-level capabilities like code generation, plugin invocation, and model utilization.
