VIS September Revenue Hits NT$46.14 Billion, Up Nearly 34%

Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) announced a consolidated revenue of approximately NT$46.14 billion for September, reflecting a month-over-month increase of 27.01%. This marks a significant rise of 33.99% compared to NT$34.44 billion in the same month last year. For the first nine months of this year, VIS reported cumulative consolidated revenue of NT$325.02 billion, which is an increase of 13.65% from NT$285.98 billion during the same period last year.

According to Huang Hui-Lan, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of VIS, the revenue increase in September was primarily driven by a rise in wafer shipments, which contributed to a monthly revenue increase from NT$36.33 billion in August.

In addition, VIS is executing a cash capital increase by issuing 200 million shares at a price of NT$88 per share, aiming to raise NT$17.6 billion. The funds will support investments in its overseas subsidiary, VSMC, specifically for the construction of a 12-inch wafer fabrication facility in Singapore.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has also announced an investment of NT$37.39 billion to acquire shares in VIS at NT$88 per share, with the aim of increasing its long-term investment stake to 27.55%.

Furthermore, in September, VIS and Hanlei announced a strategic partnership to advance the research and development of eight-inch silicon carbide (SiC) wafers. VIS will invest NT$2.48 billion to participate in Hanlei's private equity stock subscription, fostering a long-term strategic collaboration aimed at developing competitive manufacturing services.

VIS emphasized that this collaboration will focus on the technological development and future mass production of eight-inch SiC semiconductor wafers. Due to the unique properties of SiC materials, which enhance energy efficiency, this technology is expected to see widespread application in electric vehicles, AI data centers, green energy storage, industrial control systems, and consumer products, aligning with global trends toward energy conservation and carbon reduction.
